I often recommend w3schools to anyone interested in learning more about web languages, specifically HTML/CSS. SitePoint now offers a similar resource which is up-to-date and very easy to understand. Both sites are worth the bookmark.

I love the Lego men they have at the bottom showing HTML as the Content Layer, CSS as the Presentation Layer, and Javascript as the Behavior Layer. I find myself having to describe that to people a lot, so the pictures made me chuckle. As for me I’m a big fan of the way w3schools is organized, and I still use that as a reference even though I’ve been programming this stuff for years. SitePoint does offer some pretty good detailed descriptions though, and I like the browser compatibility table. I’ll have to add it to my list of CSS resource bookmarks
