Haha, I cranked this out last night because I was done work and had the coding itch. I thought it was pretty funny, especially since I’ve never asked for anything at Christmas time, ever. Started as a joke but today I added a couple more items and sent the link to some family members… may be useful afterall!
Good feedback. Thing is, I don’t have a specific product in each category that I need. For example, “Iron Maiden stuff” could be all sorts of things found at a variety of places.
You could link to a few sites, or a few searches on sites. I know when I have similar things for my parents in the past, even tech savvy parents they have asked for links.
It’s funny, my family liked the idea and some of them want a wish list now too. I googled around and there aren’t really any good wish list sites out there, besides Amazon and the likes. I’d like to take this one step further and create a service where people can make an account and post there items, descriptions, images, etc. Sound interesting? May need some programming help along the way.
I use a little Wacom tablet at work every day instead of a mouse. Its amazing. Some finer work like positioning guides and such its not the best for, but mucho easier on my hand than those silly mac mice. I liked it so much I bought myself a big one. Trouble is I don’t have enough room on my keyboard tray for it so it goes largely unused. As it is, I only have about 8 inches of width for mousing with a 3 inch wide mouse… I do like this wish list idea though. I should make one for my parents!
Any advice on which Wacom to get? I tested a smaller Graphire when I was at Hatchling in 2005 but I’d still like to try some others before making a decision. My biggest concern is lag. If you use the pen and make some quick brush movements in say Photoshop, does it delay on the screen at all? On top of my current mouse getting pretty old and grody, I’ve been doing a lot of illustrative work for school and a tablet would be a huge help.
ha! That’s great! Now make it a template so we can all do this to our parents. That is awesome.

It needs links to pages where it can be bought or where one can get more information on them. Most people would know where to get most of that stuff.

If you don’t share the code for that with me, I might have to make Santa mad and steal it. I really like the idea

I’m surprised you don’t have one yet, it’d be sweet for coloring comic characters in Photoshop.

That is an amazing idea, I’m all over it.
