Someone Played Too Much “Call of Duty”

Filed under: Life — Adrian @ 3:29 pm

Lots of work today, a trend I expect will last for at least two more weeks. No worries; plenty of good music to rattle my ears with and when the work is this bad, everything else seems that much better.

More interesting, however, I had the first disturbing dream in long time last night. Soil flying, smoke, a grassy knoll slippery with the life of soldiers dropping amidst a symphony of hot, searing lead. I escape the bullet with an all at once bursting into reality, my eyes frozen open, body weak with exhaustion, a bit of sweat rolls down the right side of my face.

And there she is.

I shake the bad thoughts one slow, deep breath at a time. The least offending figure I can think of, the polar opposite of what nightmare had waken me is this girl lying by my side, asleep, tranquil, harmless. I looked around a little more, half expecting the cavalry to barge through the door. Nothing.

Regained my share of the blanket, laid my head back down to rest, and snuggled a little closer than I had prior to that night of sleeping.

  1. Hey man, just wanted to let you know that I am on top of the Spawn project and currently have the Spawn.com comic message board helping as well.

  2. Thanks man. I’m pretty much done the project, but just wanted to get a second opinion from the Spawn guru himself. Appreciate it

  3. Hey man, well the layout rules. You could also mention the animated series as well as the movie. The movie is in the talks to get a sequel and the animated series is also due to return. You could also insert some points about the religous philosphies that occur in the story. I think maybe some more Todd photos should be thrown in his backstory to break up the lengthy write up. Everyone on the boards thought that it had a great layout and it they would give you an A right now.

  4. Hahah, this’ll be the first school project of mine that has a fan club already :)

Listen, thanks for all the input on this, it does help. I’ll add some more pics to the bio tonight after I crank out my science paper. Speaking of which, I made a site for that project too, check it out: Nanotechnology.

I think I’ll talk more about the animated series since it was so much better than the movie.

Also, for those who haven’t seen the Spawn site or know what we’re talking about, this is what I’ve been working on: Spawn.

  5. Hey man here is what Lord Magneto on the boards said:

“OK here is my 2 cents… Im no webdesigner..ive made a few sites i also had to do something similar to this in college…but i decided to redo Marvel.com i wish i still had the files…anyways… first of all it looks really good you did a great job on blending the imagines on the background… it runs really smoothly in explorer( make sure to check how it runs in netscape…maybe firefox…also not sure what your building it on if its a PC or MAC but sometimes the sites come up funky on PCs if ur designing on a mac and visa versa) Its very informative also… but i think you need to figure out how to break up a lot of the text in the Bio section. It just seems really long and its hard to get through… maybe add some more images throughout the text… or break it up into different sections like u did in the influences and interesting sections. Also, you might want to create a more general home page for the spawn website. The menu text you have on each page should link to a homepage of the site…. im not sure if you were doing that and just havent got to it but it lookes like a button since its underlined. Other then that It looks really good. I also checked out your personal website and it also looks great. Def keep up the work. This class you’re in seems pretty darn cool. I had a really really really crappy class in college that taught us the very basics of webdesign. Did you have to build your own personal site for the class?

  6. Cool, I broke up the bio page a little more and am probably callin’ it quits as I have to work on other finals right now. I went to the Spawn board and those guys were pretty helpful.

I haven’t checked it out on a Mac yet but FF, IE, and Opera all view the page fine.

Also, a couple guys asked if I use Dreamweaver. The answer is no; all the sites I’ve done so far have been using good ‘ol notepad and Photoshop.

    Thanks again man, later
